Lahore, April 11, 2014: The online property listings giant Lamudi (Lamudi.pk) has released new statistics which reveal the most popular cities in Asia amongst property-searchers.
Saad Arshed, Country Director, of Lamudi, commented: “With a buoyant economy and as one of the largest cities in the world, it is little surprise that Karachi is the most popular city with our customers. Whether you are looking to buy or rent residential or commercial property, Karachi has a wealth of opportunities. This is reflected in the numbers of people searching for property there.”
Karachi was closely followed by Lahore and Yangon City, Myanmar in the analysis. In full, the cities which made the top five ‘most searched’ areas are:
- Karachi, Pakistan 26% of searches
- Lahore, Pakistan 22% of searches
- Yangon City, Myanmar 20% of searches
- Dhaka, Bangladesh 20% of searches
- Islamabad, Pakistan 12% of searches
A clear trend identified in the analysis is the volume of searches for Pakistani cities. Last month, Lamudi.pk announced that it has become the fastest growing online property portal in Pakistan, uploading more than 15,000 new listings per month.
Launched in 2013, Lamudi is the online property portal for emerging markets. The company is backed by Rocket Internet, the German start-up incubator.
