Ballmer: iPad, Nexus and Kindle are not useable
The Surface tablet from Microsoft is a sales hit out of the gate, even though the first reviews for the Windows RT-based tablet are a little mixed. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer still feels that the Surface gives people what they really wanted in a tablet device all along.
Ballmer said in an interview with CNBC that the iPad, along with the Nexus tablet from Google and Amazon’s Kindle Fire are not what the general public really wanted in the first place. He stated:
The reviews of the Surface do say that the tablet is well suited for both work and recreation. However, Apple CEO Tim Cook doesn’t seem to care for the Surface, claiming last week, “I suppose you could design a car that flies and floats, but I don’t think it would do all of those things very well.”
At the moment, it seems that people do in fact want to buy a tablet product that is for both work and play.
