Celebrating Pak Victory over India FIR Registered against 66 Kashmiri Students

Indian police have registered a case of sedition against 67 Kashmiri students of Meerut’s Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (SVSU) for celebrating Pakistan’s victory against India in a crucial match of Asia Cup.

The Meerut police registered a case under section 124a, 153 a, and 427. The students have all been sent back to the Kashmir Valley.

Trouble began on Saturday when a group of local and Kashmiri students were watching the India-Pakistan match in SVSU’s Madan Lal Dhingra Hostel.

A group of Kashmiri students celebrated Pakistan’s victory over India and a few of them shouted slogan “Pakistan Zindabad” (Long Live Pakistan) on the way back to their rooms.

This act triggered tension in the university. As a result, the management expelled all 67 Kashmiri students residing in the hostel.
