An image showing an unreleased Nokia handset has emerged, apparently running Android.
The device – codenamed ‘Normandy‘ – surfaced on Twitter via notorious leakster Evleaks.
Three screenshots of the smartphone’s operating system appeared showing the lock screen, an incoming call and Skype in action.
It seems that Nokia has heavily-modified the operating system with familiar elements taken from Asha and Windows Phone.
However, the smartphone’s release remains uncertain after reports claimed that Nokia had scrapped its plans to launch an Android device.
A change in direction could be due to Microsoft’s imminent acquisition of Nokia’s devices and services business, which gained EU approval in December last year.
