Mad Catz launches the ‘M.O.J.O.’ Android gaming console

Mad Catz, the leading manufacturer of gaming accessories like headsets, controllers, keyboards and mice has announced the launch of an Android gaming console, dubbed the M.O.J.O. micro console.

The latest Nvidia Tegra 4 processor powers the M.O.J.O Android console. The processor is clocked at 1.8GHz and is supplemented by a healthy 2 GB RAM. Internally, there is 16GB of internal storage provided. However, the storage can be extended with micro SD cards. There is integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and 100 Mbit Ethernet provided for connectivity. It also comes with an HDMI output, a 3.5mm headphone jack, one USB 2.0 port and a USB 3.0 port. It runs on Android 4.2.2 Jellybean straight out of the box.

You might ask that how exactly does Mad Catz differentiate itself in the sea of other Android powered consoles such as Ouya or GameStick? The answer lies in the way you acquire games or apps to power up your console. The M.O.J.O Android console does not restrict the user by providing a separate app-store for users to invest in. It provides access to the Play Store games and apps in which you have already invested. The Google Play Store and NVIDIA TegraZone are pre-loaded in the console. Being an open platform, you are free to install any other app store if you wish.
