Latest Sport News: Majid 2 wins away from Asian Junior Snooker title
KARACHI: Pakistan’s fast rising cueist Muhammad Majid Ali stormed into the semi-final of 14th Asian Snooker Championship with emphatic 5-2 victory over Zhu Yinghui of China (China) Indore (India) on Saturday.
20-year-old from Faisalabad, who is featuring in his second Asian junior event, bounced back from 1-2 deficits to surprise his fancied opponent with brilliant tactical play and controlled potting in the quarter-final.
Majid started well by grabbing the opening frame. But Lu Ning cameback strongly, picked up next two frame to forge 2-1 ahead with a break of 61 in third frame.
However showing no pressure and nerves, Majid potted with consistency and in remarkable turnaround he won the next four frames at trot to chalk out an impressive win.
