ISLAMABAD: British Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Secretary William Hague on Thursday called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Cooperation between both the countries in war against terrorism and issues of mutual interest as well as regional situation with special focus on Afghanistan came under discussion during the meeting.
The visiting UK minister said that Pakistan had a vital role in Afghanistan and its endeavors for peace in were commendable.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif told Hague that Islamabad would continue cooperating with the international community for peace in Afghanistan.
The prime minister informed Hague of initiatives aimed at improving relations with New Delhi‚ including resumption of the dialogue process.
He said back channel diplomacy had also been started to improve relations with India.
Nawaz urged the UK to play its role in allowing Pakistan to get access of European Union markets.
