Political parties to file applications for electoral symbols

ISLAMABAD: Around 26 political parties have filed applications in the Election Commission of Pakistan for allotment of electoral symbols to represent them in the forthcoming elections. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has stated that parties should file applications for electoral symbols by March 15.

Chief of All Pakistan Muslim League, Pervez Musharraf applied for electoral symbols of ‘cannon’, ‘horse’ and ‘eagle’ to represent his political party, while Dr A Q Khan has applied for the symbol of ‘missile’.

In addition, MQM has opted for ‘kite’ and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (Tahir-ul-Qadri Group) has already been allotted the electoral symbol of ‘moon’.
