Rawalpindi: Pakistan Muslim League-N after losing main NA-55 seat received another serious blow in Rawalpindi when its heavyweight candidate, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, lost another important seat of Rawalpindi NA-53, suffering defeat against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) candidate, Chaudhry Ghulam Sarwar Khan, by close margin.
The result was an expected one because Ghulam Sarwar who once a PML-N stalwart enjoyed great support of the people of his constituency. With an increase in popularity of PTI and because of difference in the party ranks, Ghulam Sarwar, parted ways with PML-N and joined PTI, which also awarded him ticket from NA-53 against political giant like Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan of PML-N. However, since the time PTI fielded Ghulam Sarwar in NA-53, he was being tipped as winner by the people of the constituency. Before this election, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan never lost from this constituency.
After winning the elections of 2008, according to the people Chaudhry Nisar paid no heed to resolve the problems pertaining to this constituency, creating concern and disappointment among the people.
